Ticketing

I want to sign up for this!

Ticketing

As a ticketer you will be responsible for checking people into the event. When arriving at your shift you will be assigned 1 of 2 positions, either scanning bar codes or flagging people to temporary parking. Please feel free to swap up mid-shift to keep things fresh. While you are the first to welcome friends home, ticketing is the business end of the PDF mullet (business up front, party in the back). This does not mean you can't have fun, however please try to keep everything flowing nicely. There will be instructions on how to perform each task located at the Ticketing Tent when you arrive for your shift.

NOTE: When ticketing is closed (3am-9am) only 2 volunteers are required and will be asked to check people entering and exiting for their wrist bands.
Where it is: Outside the front gate entrance.

What to bring: Sun screen, bug spray and something to eat and drink (Feel free to bring enough to share). You should also bring a cup for the frequent liquid donations that occur at volunteer stations.

Pre-Req: You must be sober and have all so-called naughty bits covered. The front gate is the most publicly accessible location on the playa and is often met with nosey neighbors, police and ambulances. It is important that you are able to communicate effectively and are not "publicly intoxicated". While you don't have to be stone cold sober, please know your limits.

Ticketing Lead

As the Ticketing Lead you will be solely responsible for the wrist bands at the event. You will be responsible for placing the appropriate colored wrist band on the participant comfortably (but not too loosely), based on the age on their ID. Also, you will be asked to count the bands at the beginning and end of the shift, to make sure none have mysteriously going missing. You will also be responsible for assigning tasks to the other ticketing volunteers, ensuring the ticketing station is straightened and organized at the end of your shift and to communicate any problems with the GOD or Coordinators over the radio as needed. New this year we will be asking volunteers to fill out a check-in/check-out form and each volunteer who successfully complete a shift will get a raffle ticket for a chance to win a reserved ticket for the following year's PDF. Where it is: Outside the front gate entrance.

What to bring: Sun screen, bug spray and something to eat and drink (Feel free to bring enough to share). You should also bring a cup for the frequent liquid donations that occur at volunteer stations.

Pre-Req: Should be good with people and able to assign tasks. Should be sober and reliable and have all so-called naughty bits covered. You should have attended at least 2 previous PDFs and volunteered as ticketing at least 3 times in the previous 2 years. Please come to your shift 5-10 minutes early to sign in and allow the previous Lead enough time to fill out the log and pass on any important information.
