Hey Fire Team!

Mungo and Cupkate have started a new business and won't be able to get to PDF this fall, dagnabit. I'll miss him.

I really don't want to be in charge because I'm not too confident in my woodstacking and ignition abilities. But I do know what chores need to be done. If anyone else here wants to step up to the task, that'd be great.

Lorne said he'd help with the stack design, and I'm going to ask Melody to include Fire Team vounteer sign up on the participation station boards. Everyone cool for asking for volunteers to help out at 2 p.m. on Friday to build the burn pads? And 2 p.m. Saturday to build the wood stack?

Lizard is also our BOD liaison since Booger stepped down. But he always has his hands full with rescuing people and charging radios, so it's going to be up to us to:

- Build burnpads and woodstack
- Find a truck and buy new metal sheets, kero and roadflares (already in the PDF budget)
- Discuss with artists their needs and schedules.
- Look out for any whacky stuff going into the fires, like C-4 or sofas.
- Work with DPW to get everything cleaned up and put away at the end.

Can anyone else think of anything else?

I'm not experienced in this area, but I can certainly take direction and move big things from here to there. Hit me up, I'm Leland.arthou@gmail.com (I need to change my PDF profile to reflect that).
I would love to be on the fire team, but I am not experienced in it yet except being a pyro all my life and having been safe enough to not burn down anything significant. That can be taken as either a fire safety compliment, or a piro lifestyle failure, it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Seriously, I have a great respect for, and good relationship with fire. I will check the schedule, and will be looking for safety meetings to brush up our skills in doing what it takes to keep burning safe.

And yes, I do have some heavy gloves, I think they're made of asbestos, or anthrax, or something fireproof like that.

Leland-

You're swell! We can always use an extra hand building burn pads and fire stacks. You'll see me out there begging for help midday Friday and Saturday. Yes, please bring the asbestos gloves.

Reverend Dave and Lorne are stepping up to fill in for Mungo so we're looking damn good. DAMN GOOD!

This is going to be one amazing burn.
