It wouldn't be a purchase but did you talk to the folks at CoopersLake Campground in SlipperyRock PA ?
Its where they host Pennsic and FrostBite.
They have an AWESOME site that rental could be negotiated for.

Coopers Lake has been considered in the past and I would not rule it out if PDF can not find its own land soon. One of the big issues with it is that is much farther away for most of the people who attend PDF, about 5 to 7 hours drive one way from the I-95 corridor between NYC and Richmond. It is a fantastic site though. I do not know if the Land Search committee has revisited the idea as a back up plan or temporary solution.

Has there been any new findings from the Land Search committee? I can't remember the last time I saw anything new about it or what the status is.

Coopers lake is where FrostBurn takes place: http://frostburnpgh.com/

Although an awesome site, the distance is a major issue for many in the mid-Atlantic area.

Especially for the fall PDF, when a lot of folks are still decompressing from their trip to the desert.

At least in the spring and fall you won't get stuck in the snow
