Hi all! My partner and I are coming to PDF for the first time. we're super excited. I'm trying to get planning ideas. Is there any access to electrical outlets for small appliances like cell phones / battery chargers, etc? I'm assuming there aren't outlets near the tents, but does the pavilion have outlets?

Also, I didn't see anything about grills. Do most people cook over fire or are there grills by the pavilion? I might bring a camping gas stove or something like that.

Thanks!

I believe there are some outlets under the pavilion but they as usually in high demand. Your best bet might be to ask a friendly neighbor that has a generator and a spare outlet to charge your electronics. As for grills, everyone brings a basic camping grill or if your feeling crazy you could put a dog on a stick over one of the many burning barrels you'll see, just watch out for cigarette butts flying your way. Just think of what you would bring on a camping trip.......besides the 1248 other people around you.. Have fun on the Playa!

The stage, greeter station and volunteer station outlets are for event use only.
The only outlets for general use are in the pavilion, but...
- They are in high demand by others with things to charge. Suggest you have a 12V charger handy
and use your cars lighter socket.
- At least one of the pavilion outlets is questionable (loose blades?)
- No high current appliances unless you can arrange to borrow
power from a camp with a large genny.

For PDF it's best to plan to be off grid for the event.

Regarding grills, most camps have at least a small Coleman propane stove. The pavilion is a
traditional communal cooking space. You'll find me and several others grilling away most evenings.
I bring some food, but usually cook others things as well.
