This thread is for continuing the budget discussions from the July 2014 PC meeting. The budgets in question can be found via the link to the minutes below.

We will be voting on these budgets at the August 2014 meeting. New budget items or budgets for departments not included in the above spreadsheet can be proposed at the August meeting and voted on in September.

Budgets passed: Burning Arts, MASH, Sanctuary, and Volunteer/Part Stat

Budget discussion:
- DPW - nothing major. Straw purchase included in DPW budget.

- Exodus - discussion about Exodus just purchasing their own radio, which is up to Fritz. (Need to know ASAP if that's the case.) Future discussion will need to happen about storing and keeping track of radios.

- Fire Perimeter - nothing major. Dove brought up possibility of PDF needing to pay medical and firefighter service in the future.

- Gate/Greeters - nothing major. Existing shade structure to be replaced and may be able to be re-purposed for another use.

- Lamp Lighters - major concern over cart usage due to potential damage (likely not allowed usage by rental company!). Karnak has offered his pick-up truck to be used by LL and DPW on-site! (There are already 2 vehicles usually on-site for DPW. This would be an additional vehicle primarily for LL use.)

- Parking - need to add line item for temporary flags and stakes. (Brought up by DiSmiles since ran out at Spring PDF.)

- Rangers - no discussion.

- Sound - no discussion.

- Stage - LOTS of discussion about UHaul rental vs. hitch. PC wants to save money with hitch but is concerned with purchasing an item may be used for personal transportation. Possible compromise: cover gas for transportation, which spreads cost out over multiple burns without needing to pay for improvements to personal vehicle. (Will cost more than just the hitch over the lifetime of use but will be cheaper than a UHaul every event.)

- Theme Camps - no discussion.

- WWW - no discussion.

The BOD member on the call was Dove and she did not speak about the no bars allowed at PDF. The call was recorded, maybe Emily can retrieve the recording, for the discussion/topic about no bars allowed at PDF :D
