Here is the Afterburn report for MASH Camp

What Worked:

Fall went very smoothly with no major issues. Advised three participants to seek outside assistance.

#1 -- A tent call for suspected broken right ankle/leg. He refused ambulance. We gave directions to the nearest medical hospital.

#2 -- A call for elbow pain after a back flip. We gave a triangular sling and ice and recommended urgent care giving directions to the nearest medical center.

# 3 --A call for shoulder pain after the participant fell approximately 6-8 feet from a ladder. We iced for 2 hours and ibuprofen. We also recommended urgent care if necessary giving directions to the nearest medical center.

Big props to DPW as they helped with putting up and taking down the tent since we had a coordinator that was not feeling well and another that had to run out quickly on Monday!!!

The cot was a big success for those that worked the overnight shifts. Thank you all for that. And finally printing out and having directions to a few medical centers and urgent care facilities helped out participants needing that. Nerves were calmed.

What didn't work / Do better: (combined)

Need more volunteers! Overnights continue to be tough. We have been very lucky both Spring and Fall 2014 with not too many calls especially after a super busy 2013!
I have heard discussion of getting paid professionals to work especially the overnight shifts. Its probably time to discuss that. Not completely sure if that is a BoD decision or not.

Respectfully submitted,
Radar --off site coordinator
