Proposal:

A number of events have set a "Code of Conduct" for participants in order to outline our expectations with regards to the rules and policies of the event. These include a number of FAQs to be developed (see additional proposal). Below is a sample of a Code of Conduct we may adapt/accept. Please see http://fireflyartscollective.org/firefly/policies/ for additional information, including links to FAQs.

Participant Code of Conduct

At all events organized by Playa del Fuego Inc., participants are responsible for their own behavior and resolving their own issues.

Playa del Fuego Inc. strongly suggests behaving in a manner that does not make other participants feel unsafe or threatened.

Playa del Fuego Inc. will not condone any behavior that endangers its ability to hold the annual festival and other community events.

Participants may report any incident in which another participant is behaving in an abusive, intimidating, threatening, or unsafe manner. (Physical hazards, such as unsafe art installations or fires, should be referred to Rangers or Fire Team.)

Along with this Code of Conduct participants need to be aware of and comply with additional policies linked below.

Playa del Fuego Inc. Policies & Guidelines:

Warning and Ban Policy
Confidentiality Policy for Board of Directors
Photography Policy
Festival Policies (Survival Guide)
Festival Release Form
Conduct Committee Policies:

Reporting Incidents FAQ
Investigatory Procedure
Incident Report Form (Google form)
Complaints about individuals’ behavior at non-Playa del Fuego Inc.events
Confidentiality Policy for Conduct Committee Members

As a quick question about this one...

Isn't the BOD explicitly in charge of communications and safety and such things as this type of code of conduct statement would seem to be covering? I'm not sure if this one is a PC issue. If you're just posting it here to get ideas from the community about it that's certainly fine, too. I'd just like to distinguish between the items that are being expected to go through the PC vs. those that may not be.

All of my proposals are for the PC calls. Sorry, I didn't make that clear. I'm asking we consider them as a PC member, not a BOD member.

If y'all think it should be a BOD call, I'm cool with that! Yay for confusion!

I would think this is a BOD thing, similar to the recent consent rewrite.

Any revisions of the waiver need to be approved by the BOD since the BOD is ultimately responsible for PDF.

Pre PDF, the BOD sends the waiver to be printed at a copy center and Gate Coor picks up the waivers from copy center and delivered to PDF.

Once the waivers are on site, the waivers will be administered by Front Gate/Ticketing volunteers for participants to fill out at the request of PDF BOD.

Retention time for legal documents is seven years.

To my knowledge, PDF waivers are kept at BOD Pres home or shed.
