Vesak Day

Calling all Buddhists and enthusiasts! Vesak is upon us and will begin right in the middle of the burn! Vesak also known as Buddha Day, is a celebration of Buddha’s Birthday and also marks the day of his enlightenment here and transcendence from this world. Come to the Ṁā fɨ Wȧd (Temple Fire Pony) and celebrate by the bathing of the Buddhas and meditation will be followed by ceremonial head shaving for those who wish to. Cutting attachments giving forth new growth is a major step. The clippings will be burned in Temple on Sunday, releasing all the energy held within over to the universe.

Green Your Burn camp will be collecting your recyclables this year! Drop off your EMPTY aluminum cans (please do not crush cans), food scraps for composting (can collect in paper bags), empty propane canisters, and new this year vapes (nicotine/THC) and e-cigs. Green Your Burn will be located next to ice sales and will have the same hours for collection, F, Sa, Su 11 am – 12 pm and 5 – 6 pm. Cans will be redeemed and/or bulk recycled in NY and proceeds will be donated back to 2025 PDF art grants.
